IBPS Clerk 2019 Recruitment:

IBPS clerk 2019 exam dates have been announced in the official exam calendar. The preliminary exam dates are 7th, 8th, 14th & 15th of December 2019. IBPS Clerk Selection Process:

The IBPS clerk selection process will take place in two stages namely,
  • Online Preliminary exam
  • Online mains exam
There is no interview for the IBPS clerk selection. Only if you clear the prelims round, you can take the mains exam.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern:

  • The IBPS clerk preliminary exam consists of 3 sections namely the English language, quantitative aptitude and the reasoning ability. 
  • 20 minutes of sectional timing is given for all the 3 sections.
  • The exam is conducted for100 marks. Each question carries 1 mark. If you mark wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted as penalty.
  • You have to clear both the sectional and overall cut-offs to take the mains exam.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Pattern:

  • The IBPS clerk mains exam has 4 sections. They are English language, reasoning ability & computer aptitude, data interpretation & analysis and general economy & banking awareness.
  • As there is sectional timing you cannot swap between the sections.
  • Negative marking is 1/4th of the marks assigned to each wrong answer.
  • The marks obtained in this exam are considered for the calculation of the final cut off. The candidates who clear the mains exam will get the provisional allotment order.

There are some preparation tips and tricks to follow for the candidates. These preparation tips will help the candidates to score high marks even in the tougher question papers. 


Prepare Study Plan:


Prepare a study plan to cover the exam IBPS Clerk syllabus. In your study plan take enough time for each topic and learn all the concepts. If you are weak at some topics take extra time and prepare well until you get clear with the concepts. Complete your preparation well before the exam and allot time for taking mock tests. In your study plan don’t avoid any topic. Only then your preparation will be more effective.

Mock Test Practice:

Mock test practice will be the main factor deciding your success. There are many mock tests such as topic test, sectional mock test and full-length mock test. If you lack knowledge in a particular topic then take topic test. If you are weak in a particular section then the sectional mock test practice is the remedy. Then the full-length mock test practice is must before any exam. Without prelims and mains mock test you cannot get confidence before the exam.

Tricks to Crack IBPS Clerk 2019:

In exam first choose the easy questions. So that in less time you can score more marks.


  • In prelims exam use short cut methods for all the problems in quantitative aptitude section. This will ensure you high marks in this section.
  • In reasoning ability sections solve the questions in the order according to your strength and weakness.
  • Focus more on the English language section. If you score well in this section then the job is half done.
  • For mains exam put extra effort in all the sections. Practicing with previous year question papers will increase your knowledge and ability to solve difficult questions.
  • At least complete 2 to 3 full length IBPS clerk mock test before the mains exam
  • The mains exam will mostly have the difficult questions in all the sections. So in your preparation choose more difficult questions for the practice.
  • For mains exam practice give more attention to puzzles and seating arrangements in the reasoning section. Practice more questions on miscellaneous topics.
