=1/6+1/12=(2+1)/12=1/4
A and B together will do the work in 4 days.
2). A= 2, b = 3
ab+ ba = 23+32= 8+9= 17
(ab+ba)-1=(17)-1=1/17
3).

392 = 2  2 × 2 × 7 × 7
= 22 × 72 × 2
Required number = 2

4).
Diagonal of square = Diameter of circle = 16 cm
Area of square = ½ × (diagonal)2
=1/2×16×16=128 sq cm
5). Diameter of circle = 6 cm
=Width of rectangle
Area of circle = πr2
= π × 3 × 3 = 9 sq. cm
6). Diagonal of square = d units
Area of square = ½ × d2
Case II,           d1=2d
Area of square = ½ d12
=1/2 (2d)2 = 4 ½ d2
7). Marked price of article = Rs. x
C.P. of article
=3x/4 × 110/100 =660
3x/4 × 110/100 = 660
ð  3x × 110 = 660 × 4 × 100
ð  X = 660 × 4 × 100/3×110 = Rs. 800
8). Marked price of silk sari = Rs. x
x × (100) – 25)% = 525
ð  x × 75/100 = 525
ð  x = 525 × 100/75 = Rs. 700
9). C. P. of an article = Rs. 100
Marked price = Rs 125
S. P. = 100 + 25/2 = Rs. 225/2
Discount = 125 – 225/2
=(250-225)/2 = Rs. 25/2
If the discount per cent be x%, then
(125 × x) /100 = 25/2
ð  X = 25/2 × 100/125 = 10%
