Solution:

1). Average expenditure
= (5 × 450 + 4 × 750 + 12 × 750) / (12 + 5 + 4)
= (2250 + 3000 + 9000) / 21
= Rs. 678.57 = Rs. 678. 50

2). New average height = (10 × 105 + 20 × 120) / 30 = 115 cm

3). Ratio of share of A and B = 2 : 3
Ratio of share of B and C = 4 : 5
Now, ratio of A, B, and C

= 2 × 4 : 4 × 3 : 3 × 5
= 8 : 12 : 15
Now, B’s share = (12 / 35 ) × 7000

4). Let the common ratio be x.
Price of 3rd variety of tea = Rs. p
Now, by given condition
126 × x + 135 × x + p × 2x = 153 × 4x
261x + p × 2x = 612x
p × 2x = 612x – 261x
p = 351x / 2x = Rs. 175.50

5). Total runs scored in 10 innings = 60 × 10 = 600
Let runs scored in 11th innings = x
Now, total runs in 11 innings
600 + x = 11 × 62
600 + x = 682
x = 682 – 600 = 82

6). Sum of squares of n natural numbers = (1 / 6) n (n + 1)(2n + 1)
Average of square of n natural numbers = [  (1 / 6) n (n + 1)(2n + 1) ] / n

= (1 / 6) × 11 ×  21 = 38.5

7). Average age of 4 members = 36 yr
Total age of 4 members = 36 × 4 = 144 yr
Total age of family 12 yr ago = 144 – 12 × 4
= 144 – 48 = 96 yr
Average age of family 12 yr ago = 96 / 4 = 24 yr

8). Average of 30 numbers = 12
Total of 30 numbers = 30 × 12 = 360
Average of 20 numbers = 11
Total of 20 numbers = 11 × 20 = 220
Average of next 9 numbers = 10
Total of next 9 numbers = 10 × 9 = 90
Last number = 360 – 220 – 90 = 50

9). Given that, x = 5 km / h and y = 3 km / h
Average speed = (2xy) / (x + y) = (2 × 5 × 3) / (5 + 3)
= (2 × 5 × 3) / 8 = 30 / 8 = 15 / 4
= 3 (3 / 4) km / h

10). The number are x,
x + 1,  x + 2, x + 3, x + 4,
∴ x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4 = 5n
5x + 10 = 5n
x = n – 2
Now, required average
= (x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4 + x + 5 + x + 6) / 7
= (7x + 21) / 7 = x + 3
= n – 2 + 3 = n + 1
Thus, the average will increase by 1.
