Solution:

1). Let required amount of money be Rs. x. Then,
x × 25% = 180 × 12(1 / 2)%
x = (180 × 12.5) / 25 = Rs. 90

2). A = 1 / 2(B + C)
B + C = 2A
A + B + C = 3A
3A = 5625
B = 1.125
A = 1875
B = 1 / 4(A + C)
A + C = 4B
A + B + C = 5B
5B = 5625
A = 1875
(A – B) = Rs. 1875 – 1125 = Rs. 750

3). Transverse common tangent
= √[ d2 – (r1 + r2)2]
= √[ (24)2 – (5 + 3)2]
= √(576 – 64) = √512 = 16√2 cm

4). Let the required ratio be x : 1, then
(x × 16.4) + (1 × 15.4) = (x + 1) × 15.8
16.4x + 15.4 = 15.8x + 15.8
(16.4x – 15.8x) = (15.8 – 15.4)
0.6x = 0.4

(100 + x ) = [ ( 165 × 100 × 100) / (125 × 120) ] = 110
x = 10%

7). Let x% of x = 10% of y. then,
(x / 100) × x = (10 / 100) × y
y / 10 = x2 / 100
y  = x2 / 10

8). Speed downstream = 10 / 2 km / h = 5 km/h
Speed upstream = 10 / 5 km/h = 2 km/h
Speed of boat in still water = 1 / 2(5 + 2) km/h = 3.5 km/h
9). Sum = Rs.[ (100 × 50) / (2 × 5) ] = Rs. 500
Cl = Rs. [ 500 × (1 + (5 / 100)2 ) – 500]
= Rs. [ 500 × (21 / 20) × (21 / 20) – 500]
