B : C = 5 : 6
:. A : B : C = 10 : 15 : 18
Now, 43x = 860
:. X=20
A = Rs. 200, B = Rs. 300 and C= Rs. 360
Difference = 18x – 10x = 8x
= 8×20 = Rs. 160

2).Required % increase in area
= 20 + 15 + (20×15)/100 = 38%

3).Let the CP be Rs. 100.
:. SP at 20% profit = Rs. 120
And, SP at 30% profit = Rs. 130
:. Difference of SP = (130-120) = Rs. 10
If the difference of SP is Rs. 10 then CP = Rs. 100
:. If the difference is Rs. 36 then CP = (100/10) × 36 = Rs.360

4).Equivalent discount
= 100-[(100×80)/100] × [(85/100)] × [(70/100)]
= 100 - (238/5)

:.1 man = 2 women

8).Pipe A fills (1/30) part in 1 minute.
Pipe B fills (1/45) part in 2nd minute.
In 2 minutes the part of the cistern filled = [(1/30) + (1/45)]
= (5/90) = (1/18)
:.(1/18) part of cistern is filled in 2 minutes
1 part of the cistern will be full in = (18×2) = 36 minutes

9).Circumference of wheel = πd
= [(22/7)×56] = 1.76 meters
